Transmission Line Principal Engineer

Location:  Juno Beach, FL

Must-have skills: 7+ y of exp designing transmission lines; PLS-CADD; Transmissions design standardizing exp (creating standards, specifications, tutorials); electrical engineering exp; Primavera, Auto-CAD; Project Engineering and/or Project Management experience with a strong bias for action; PMP and/or P.E. in related discipline or 7+ y of exp in the development, design, engineering, and construction of High Voltage Transmission line projects; Pm exp or PMP or PE certificate; PLS-CADD, Auto-CAD, Primavera

Requirements:

  • Experience in High Voltage Transmission Line design (7+ years);
  • Transmissions design standardizing experience (creating standards, specifications, tutorials);
  • Experience creating standards in Microsoft Suite;
  • Experience with standard industry tools such as PLS-CADD;
  • Experience with Auto-CAD, Primavera, and other software
  • Project Engineering/ Project management experience (preferred);
  • PMP and/or P.E. (preferred);
  • Valid driver`s license;
  • Travel required within North America;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil/Structural Engineering.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Be responsible for the management of design for assigned transmission generation tie lines for Wind, Solar, and Battery Energy Storage, and for stand-alone transmission line projects;
  • Work in the Engineering & Construction (E&C) Group and is responsible for transmission line projects from conception (Early Stage) through construction and commissioning (Execution);
  • Work with the Early-Stage Project Manager to define and influence the project requirements and scope with the Development Group; 
  • Secure engineering consulting resources from a list of approved suppliers by developing a scope of work, securing bids and awarding work through Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) Group;
  • Coordinate with other project stakeholders to develop and secure a route, and secure the data and permits needed to design and build the line, including geotechnical data and lidar data;
  • Be responsible for coordinating the engineering deliverables in support of competitive proposals, as well as design and construction of projects;
  • Be responsible for representing E&C’s internal and external interests on assigned projects, including presentations/briefing on current progress, issues, and risk mitigation in meetings with various levels of management.
